Weave silk

Weave silk is a great and amazing art program. It has really cool graphics and extra cool sketch's too. But the most thing I like is that it takes your imagination into a whole new world. Here are some art pieces I made.
I like to call this one rose because it looks like a rose.

In this one I tried to make a person but it didn't work so I decided to call it x ray

This one is crazy

say hello to pillow.

and finally the best one yet, armor

empathy

WALT: Comprehend concepts related
to mental health and emotional promotion.
What is empathy?Empathy is defined as the ability to understand the thoughts and feelings.
e.g. An example of empathy is feeling the same amount of excitement as a friend.

Why is it important to show empathy toward others? so you can feel what other people feel.
What does it mean to “put yourself in someone else’s shoes”? talk to them/be friend with them.
What does that have to do with empathy? it is because somebody will be left out and they will be sad and feeling left out so that is what to do with empathy.

What can you do to show empathy toward another person? If they are feeling sad and u know how it will be in their position.

Make a popplet or Google drawing a displaying ways that you can reach out to others.
Think of a time when you hurt someone’s feelings. Describe what happened. One day I put rubbish in my friends bag and someone saw me and told that person and I got in trouble.

How did you know you hurt the person’s feelings? because he acted different to me
How did you feel about the situation?
I felt bad
What did you do to make the situation better? I went and said sorry

Discuss how you think your school would change if all of the students showed empathy toward each other.
Do you think it would be a big change or a small
change? Why do you think so? I think its going to be a big change because I think everybody should be empathic.

The Flood

The Flood
How do the images and the text support each other?
They both are showing the same thing.

What does it mean when it says ‘Rain was pelting on the roof’?
It means rain is hitting the roof really hard.

Why do you think Ama’s mother said she should hang on to her?
So that they don’t get lost.

For what reason do we think Ama grabbed her blanket?
So that her cat doesn't get wet.

How old do we think Ama might be?
Six years old.

How would you feel if you were Ama from being at home relaxing on the couch to being rushed away while a disaster is occurring?
Feeling scared.

Why did Ama and her mother cling to each other?
To stay together.

What had the road turned into? If you were in this situation what would you do?
The road had turned into a slippery wet muddy road. I would get to higher ground.

Who picked Ama up? The man across the road.
If you were Ama and a stranger picked you up, how would you react in such an emergency? I would be thankful.
Why would they be going to her grand parents house?
Because it’s on higher ground.
Where is their house located?
on a hill
Wednesday:
Summarise what has happened in the story so far.
A flood happened and they went to higher ground were safe.

Why do you think Ama did not want her mother to leave her?
So that she doesn't get hurt.

Why did Ama’s mother go off into the dark night while it was raining.
To get lucky.

addition triangle 2

" One of our maths tasks today was working on an addition ".
One of the rules is that you can not write the same two numbers in each row". I have just completed my first triangle. I am now moving on to the next one.

My trip to Rotorua

I was in Rotorua feeling nice and fresh. It was a long ride and I hadn't even put one foot on the ground, I couldn't wait to get out of the car because my leg's were killing me. Anyway, eventually we got out of the car and had a bit of a play around, then we had lunch. I'm not going to tell you what I had for lunch, I get hungry just by thinking of it. Then after we ate we went site seeing, here are some pictures.

. Right after that we went to the luge but I was a bit nervous because I hadn't been on it for a long time and I might crash, but then I remembered that they give you a quick lesson at the start. We were nearly at the front of the line and I was still nervous, in fact I was so nervous my whole body was sweating, but I knew I had to go on. I zoomed straight past my brother Haron and was having such a great time. Just when things were looking good, Haron overtook me and with my big sister Hajira right behind me, I noticed that she was laughing. But I didn't care, at least I was second.

reading activity

One of our reading activities today was to create a popplet or word web to increase our range of vocabulary. The word we were given was Leisure, I found 30 words with the help of thesaurus.com and my partner henry.
